Egypt captain Mohamed Salah has made it known that Liverpool FC are targeting the Premier League and UEFA Champions League double after scoring a stunning solo goal.
The world-class winger grabbed a goal and an assist in the Reds’ comprehensive 5-0 victory over a struggling Watford FC side in a one-sided Premier League encounter on Saturday and he insisted the team will ‘fight for everything’ this season.
Salah followed up his superlative solo strike against Manchester City before the international break with another individual effort of mindboggling close control, skill and finishing in the English elite league match on October 3.
“Last game [against City] maybe! I don’t know which one was better, this one or the City one,” Salah told BT Sports.
“Every time I’m in the box I’m trying to give the ball to someone to score, or I score by myself. It’s always about the team. I always try to play for the team.
“The most important thing today is we scored good goals, all of us in front scored. Hopefully, we can carry on like that. In your personal form right now, do you feel as sharp as you’ve ever been? I don’t know,” he continued.
“I’m just trying. Sometimes I don’t have luck scoring goals. I’m just trying every time to give 100 per cent of what I have and trying to help the team.
“Sometimes I have luck, sometimes not. But I’m feeling confident at the moment, I feel like I’m scoring goals, helping the team to get points, which is the most important thing.”
Having already helped Liverpool win the Premier League title, Champions League trophy, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup, Salah is keen to win more trophies with the Reds this season.
“Hopefully. Hopefully we we can win the league and we’re also going to go for the Champions League. It’s important for a team like Liverpool, a club like Liverpool to fight for everything,” he added (African Football)
