Rangers head coach Imama Amapakabo wins LBA again

By News Express on May 20, 2016

Enugu Rangers head coach Imama Amapakabo has been named League Bloggers Awards (LBA) Manager for April, the second award on the bounce for the savvy gaffer.

Unlike in March when he led the Flying Antelopes to 11 points with just a loss, Amapakabo claimed the prize for April beating quite an impressive field of fellow coaches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The others shortlisted for the April manager award were Solomon Ogbeide of Sunshine Stars, Ard Sluis of Warri Wolves and Kennedy Boboye of Abia Warriors.

In April, Amapakabo did well to guide Enugu Rangers to an unbeaten streak in four matches in which MFM FC were the only team to stop them from achieving a 100 percent record in the month under review.

However, Sunshine Stars striker Okiki Afolabi has been named the LBA Player for April.

Afolabi put in a massive shift in April for Sunshine Stars as they navigated their way out of the drop thanks to the goals of their front man, who shaded competition from the other shortlists for the LBA Player for April.

The Sunshine Stars striker scored five goals in the month under review to beat other contenders, Anthony Oussou (Heartland), Chinonso Okonkwo (Rivers United) and Esosa Igbinoba (Nasarawa United), to the monthly award for players.

The winners of the LBA for April will receive their awards in the coming days.
