Odion Ighalo took his Premier League goals tally to 15 for the season when he scored for Watford in their 4-2 loss to Norwich City on Wednesday.
His 51st minute strike came after Nathan Ake sent Troy Deeney down the flank and his pinpoint ball across the face of goal meant Ighalo had the coolest of opportunities to convert from close range
It was the second goal in the league for the Nigerian this year, after he suffered a 13-match drought since January 23 when he scored in a 2-1 home victory over Newcastle United.
In the intervening period he scored twice in the FA Cup, with the memorable winner in a 2-1 victory over back-to-back defending champions Arsenal.
The 26-year-old’s 15 goals in his first season in the Premier League has set the scene for an interesting summer where he is likely to leave the Hornets due to reported interest in his services by big clubs in England and abroad.
It was reported that Ighalo turned down a big money move to China last year. His feat this season would surely see him tempted with bigger offers. (goal.com)
