Plateau United head coach Zachary Baraje said that although his side came to Ibadan to win against Shooting Stars Sports(3SC), he is satisfied with the draw.
The Tin City landlords were held to 2-2 draw by the Oluyole Warriors in NPFL matchday 14 clash on Sunday at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
The newcomers went in front in the 27th minute through Joshua Obaje after the Ibadan Warlords' top striker, Wasiu Jimoh, missed a spot kick in the 15th minute but it was Tope Orelope’s turn to even score from the spot in the 32nd minute.
However, Jimoh made up for the penalty miss with a rebounder in the 37th minute while substitute Ibeh Johnson’s strike in the 74th minute ensured his side earn a point.
Baraje said he is happy with the point as his wards are showing great improvement with each match.
“I came down to Ibadan to win the three points at stake against 3SC but the boys messed up the dream by committing unnecessary penalties.
“However, the players are showing great progress with each match.
“I’m happy with the point. At least it will help to motivate the boys to win the next home match against Sunshine Stars.
“A win in the encounter will greatly improve our position on the league table,” said the former Enyimba coach to supersport.com.
Baraje, however, has a word of advice for the supporters of the Ibadan Landlords.
“3SC allowed their problems to weigh them down, especially the 0-6 loss at Kano Pillars.
“There are too much pressure on the side from their supporters as well as the non-payment of salaries.
“The supporters should show more understanding with the team while the team should try to avoid bringing their plights into their games” said the former Akwa United coach.
The point at 3SC takes Plateau United's total earning to 16 points from a possible 42 in the 14-week-old Nigerian top flight
