With barely three weeks to the second edition of Maureen Mmadu Football Kiddies Camp, the one sports fiesta for the girl child in Anambra State has continued to gather applause and support from well-meaning Nigerians.
The highlight of the second edition is the selection process that would see three budding young talents aged 10-18 getting full scholarship to study and nurse their talent abroad.
Among the latest to throw their weight behind the grassroots football scheme are the member representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Hon Chris Azubogu; the chairman of Peace Airline, Chief Allen Onyema; Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Uche Nworah, and Managing Director of National Light Newspaper, Chuka Nnabuife, among others.
Also throwing his weight behind the programme is former Nigeria Football Federation Technical Director, Bitrus Bewarang, who will grace the opening ceremony on April 2, 2021 as the Special Guest of Honour.
The former Technical Director of Plateau United, in a telephone conversation with Maureen Mmadu, expressed his delight at the opportunity to identify with the grassroots development based programme, first, east of the Niger
Also expected at the kiddies football camp are Ambassador Mmadu’s colleagues from Norway.
The camp which will be open to girls aged 10-18 will hold at Washington Grammar School, Onitsha from April 2 to 9, 2021.
