In-form Sikiru Olatunbosun has been named Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos player of the month for April, 2016.
The skillful left-winger gave a very good account of himself in the month under review with top-notch performances. Although he didn’t score a goal but his influence on the pitch of play earned him the honour.
Olatunbosun was picked by his teammates on friday night after his teams final training session at the Agege Township Stadium for the match against Akwa United, as player of the month ahead of teenage striker, Stephen Odey who has also been in fine form for the Lagos-based team.
Speaking after the award presentation, Olatubosun who also celebrated his birthday on Friday appreciated his teammates and thanked the club management: " I want to say a very big thank you to my teammates and our management led by Mr.Godwin Enakhena for this award. I’m so grateful to you all,” he told mountaintopfc.com.
The celebrant received his award from the clubs doctor and Medical Director of Elyon Hospital, Dr Olayemi Olumakinwa at the two in one event which was also used to celebrate the birthdays of four other members of the club; hardworking defensive midfielder, Shola Brossa, defender, Oshoke Babatunde, former Enugu Rangers forward, Seun Taro and the teams welfare officer, Christian Odega.
There was plenty to eat and drink alongside cakes for all present at the Agege Stadium. The avid fans of the club were not left out of the merriment.
MFM FC to present Lagos F.A Cup to Olukoya
Reigning Lagos State Football Association Cup Champions, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos will present the trophy to the General Overseer of the Church, Dr Daniel Olukoya this Sunday at the MFM headquarters in Lagos.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side trashed Bridge Football Club of Lagos 4-0 in the final of this year’s State F.A Cup to emerge Champions for the for the first time since the inception of Club.
With the F.A Cup in their cabinet, coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and his wards have thus won every trophy competed for in Lagos State. MFM FC won the maiden edition of the Church World Cup held in Goa, India in December, 2014. The next edition comes up in Colombia later this year.
