American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys will perform during the opening ceremony at next month’s Champions League final in Milan, UEFA announced on Wednesday.

Alicia, who has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, will feature as part of a revamped ceremony prior to the game on Saturday May 28.

“I’m extremely excited to share my new music at the UEFA Champions League final, an event that is celebrated in every corner of the world,” said Keys.

“This is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are. “I’m honoured to be a special part of such a beloved experience.”

This year’s Champions League is currently at the semi-final stage with Manchester City and Real Madrid drawing 0-0 in the first leg on Tuesday and Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich playing 1-0 yesterday. (aitonline.tv)
