Aboutrika Lifts Lid On Salah & Mane Rivalry At Liverpool

By Daily sports on January 3, 2021

Legendary Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika has reassured fans that Mohamed Salah’s relationship with his Liverpool FC teammate Sadio Mane is great.

Aboutrika recently revealed that he knows the reason why Salah is unhappy at Liverpool, but the retired attacking midfielder refused to disclose the reasons why the attacker is unsettled at the English champions.

Questions have been asked of whether the two world-class wingers are on the same page, with Egypt international Salah having been accused of being self-centred on the field.

Senegal international Mane notably aired his frustration during a Liverpool’s Premier League clash at Burnley in August 2019 as he felt that Salah was too selfish.

“There is nothing between Salah and Mane. They are on great terms,” Aboutrika said on King Fut.

“The media make up things out of nowhere. Everything is normal. The things that happen between Salah and Mane often happens.

“Competition for the good of the team but there is nothing between the players.”

Salah’s overall tally in the 2020/21 season is 16 goals and four assists in 21 games across all competitions this season for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Mane, who is having a poor season by his own standards, has played 22 competitive matches this term and netted seven goals and provided three assists for the Reds.

Liverpool are scheduled to take on Southampton FC in a league game at St Mary’s on Monday. (African Football)
