Partey Hopes To Bring More Ghanaian Supporters To Arsenal

By Daily sports on October 27, 2020

Midfielder Thomas Partey says he hopes to bring more Ghanaian support to Arsenal in the wake of his transfer from Atletico Madrid earlier this month.

The Black Stars midfielder is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Nwankwo Kanu in this regard, with the Super Eagles legend inspiring huge Nigerian support for the Gunners.

Kanu played for the North London club from 1999 to 2004 and won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups in a glorious spell.

In terms of bringing more Ghana fans to support Arsenal, just as Kanu did in a Nigerian context, Partey told Arsenal’s matchday programme: “Now most of the young guys are looking up to me and I think I have to do my best to make sure I get them to support this great family.

“When they support me, they’re going to feel good when they see us play.”

Partey will hope to feature for the Gunners in their next match, which sees them host Irish club Dundalk in a Europa League group stage match on Thursday, October 29. (African Football)
