It was celebration galore at the ancient Benin Kingdom as the Esama of the Kingdom, High Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, recently marked his 86th birthday at his country home in the Edo State capital.

The Authentic Nigeria Football Supporters Club (ANFSC) was on ground to celebrate the great man, adopting him as a Patron of the club. Among dignitaries who witnessed the event was a former governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, a sports-loving personality and a son of the celebrant.

Speaking at the occasion, the National President of ANFSC, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, was full of wishes and prayers for the newly inducted club patron. His words: “I celebrate our new patron and our royal father, Esama of Benin Kingdom. God has been gracious to him and has made him to celebrate 86 years birthday. He is a man of the people; the prayers of the people, his good deeds and God’s love have kept him. We at the Authentic Nigeria Football Supporters Club are proud to associate with such a noble man. I pray for more life to his age and more celebrations. We are grateful and honour for him associating with us as a Patron. It has been a great day for our club.”

Among other patrons of ANFSC are His Royal Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, and Oba Asoya Kingdom, Honourable Kunle Soname, among other notable Nigerians
