Aubameyang Close To Signing New Arsenal Deal

By Daily sports on August 8, 2020

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly close to signing a new contract with the club.

According to Sky Sports News, the Gabon international will extend his Emirates stay and duly end speculation about his future.

Aubameyang’s current deal is set to expire at the culmination of the 2020/21 season with clubs across Europe having been linked with his services as he edged ever closer to becoming a free agent.

The 31-year-old joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2018 and has gone onto score 70 goals in 109 appearances for the club.

He netted 29 times in 44 games for the Gunners in the 2019/20 season, scoring a brace as the North London outfit beat Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup final.

Arsenal’s success in the tournament secured Europa League football next season and this, coupled with Mikel Arteta’s influence, is said to have played a huge role in persuading Aubameynag to extend his stay with the club. (African Football)
