Rodgers: We don't want to lose Ndidi again

By Daily Sports on February 28, 2020

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi is back in training, ahead of Friday’s clash with Norwich City.

The Nigeria international, who is a central midfielder by trade, has been out with a knee injury since last month.

Rodgers indicated that Ndidi will only start playing matches once they are happy with his match fitness as they prepare for the English Premier League clash with Norwich.

“Wilf Ndidi has been training so we’ll see how he is on Friday,” Rodgers said during a press conference.

“But if he’s not right for this week we’ll look for next week, which is good news for us. We have to be cautious. We don’t want to lose him again.

“When he came back it was deemed he was fit and he felt good, but he had a slight reaction, so we just wanted to be sure he was right,” he added.

“We need to give it that period of time. When we feel it’s the right time, we’ll bring him back in for a really important part of the season for us.”

Ndidi has made 26 appearances across all competitions this season and netted two goals in the process. (African Football)
