Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says he is expecting a “circus” of transfer speculation surrounding Wilfried Zaha at the end of the season.

The Ivorian winger has once again been Palace’s talisman this term, registering three goals and four assists in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old was not linked with a move away from Selhurst Park in any major way during the recently-closed winter transfer window, but Hodgson expects a different story once the season is completed in May.

“It is not something that has bothered me during the course of the transfer window because I always believed Wilf was going to stay with us,” Hodgson admitted, as quoted by Sports Mole.

“When the summer comes maybe the circus will start again and I will be getting questions all the time about it.”

After a disappointing January window in which Cenk Tosun was the only arrival, Hodgson says Palace will need to do some major work in the summer.

“I think we know as a football club we need to make more inroads into improving our squad and rejuvenating our squad and bringing in fresh faces,” he said.

“An awful lot of the faces I work with every day, they were here when I came to the club and I inherited them. Everyone is on the same page as far as that is concerned.

“Now Steve Parish, Doug Freedman and the American owners, they are going to have to do a lot of thinking, alongside myself and the coaching staff, about what the best way forward is in the next transfer window and what we are going to be able to do to ensure this team gets stronger.” (Sports Mole)
