Klopp Provides Update On Keita Injury

By Daily Sports on January 5, 2020

Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on Guinea international Naby Keita’s latest injury.

The German tactician revealed that Keita would undergo a scan on Friday on the groin injury he sustained on Thursday night.

The central midfielder, who is injury prone, sustained the injury during the warm-up before Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United in an English Premier League match.

“[We are] not wiser with Naby [yet] because he will have a scan today, I don’t know exactly when but somebody will then tell me the result of this. That didn’t happen yet,” Klopp said on the club’s official website.

Klopp also provided an update on the other injuries: “I spoke pretty much to all of them in the last minutes. They all look good.

“Shaqiri looks good; in a good way, will not be available for [Sunday] but looks good. Oxlade looks good. Joel looks good. Dejan Lovren, spoke last night, looking good. Fabinho out on the pitch doing the running stuff.

“They are really all in a good way, our only problem is the games are coming so quick, that’s why there’s no real news. Most of them will not be available for [Sunday].

“But then from today on we have eight days until the next game, so we will see what’s then possible.”

Keita is set to miss Sunday’s FA Cup tie with Everton. (African Football)
