Bad news for Guinea: Chikatara, Usman recover from injury, set for CHAN decider

By Daily Sports on January 26, 2016

Nigeria received a massive boost ahead of today’s CHAN Group C match against Guinea after both injury-hit Chisom Chikatara and Usman Mohammed trained fully with the rest of the squad on Monday.

Striker Chikatara is the leading scorer of the tournament with four goals, while midfielder Usman  has emerged  as a starter ahead of the more experienced Bartholomew ‘Mosquito’ Ibenegbu.

“Both Chikatara and Usman trained with the rest of the team, they are fit,” disclosed atop team official.

Chikatara has not trained with the team so as to rest a muscle complaint, while Usman stretched his groin when he went in for a tackle against Tunisia.

Nigeria are top of Group C with four points and need just a point in this West African derby to advance to the last-eight of the CHAN.

Kick-off time is 3pm Nigerian time.
