One of Nigeria’s representatives in this year’s continental competition, Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna, are set to do battle with Santoba FC of Conakry, Guinea, this evening in the CAF Confederations Cup. The match, scheduled for Ahmadu bello Stadium, Kaduna, marks a return of the 2019 Aiteo Cup runners-up to the competition after their last appearance in 2001.
Tornadoes under the tutelage of Coach Abubakar Bala Mohammed, the first indigenous coach to have led the Ikon Allah boys to two Cup finals in three years, is Bala’s first litmus test as a continental coach.
According to the gaffer in a recent interview, “Despite short time of preparation, I’m confident the players we have at our disposal will deliver.”
