Liverpool’s Naby Keita out of Cardiif clash

By Daily Sports on October 27, 2018

Naby Keita will sit out Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Cardiff City, according to Jurgen Klopp.

Keita is recovering from a hamstring damage suffered during the international break but returned to training ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade.

However, he was also ruled out of the game as the Reds went on to a 4-0 rout of their Serbian visitors.

In his pre-match briefing on Friday, Klopp disclosed that the summer signing and his captain Jordan Henderson are ‘in a good way’ but will miss Saturday’s clash against Neil Warnock’s side – making it three straight games for the latter, having missed last week’s win over Huddersfield Town.

“[Keita and Henderson] will not play tomorrow, for sure. Both in a good way, but will not be ready for that,” Klopp said in a pre-match conference.

“I think that’s it pretty much. Apart from Ox [Chamberlain] and Rhian [Brewster], the rest should be available.”

Liverpool will be looking to secure a win over the lowly-placed side at Anfield, thus, making it three consecutive victories. (Goal)
