I am sick of losing to Roger Federer, says Milos Raonic

By Daily Sports on July 4, 2018

Milos Raonic has lost to Roger Federer 11 times in the 14 matches they have played, with the most recent loss coming at the Mercedes Cup final in Stuttgart.

The Canadian player was asked to comment on why he often gives glum answers about Federer, especially after a loss .

'It's not a particular focus on Roger. I'm just sick of myself losing,' said Raonic.

John McEnroe, who was Raonic's coach during the 2016 grass-court season, said: ' I still talk with him, pull for him.

He’s had a lot of issues the last year and a half with injuries. He has a favourable first couple of matches but it really depends on how he’s feeling in a way, because he hasn’t been able to train as much as he’d like.

I think that his confidence level is probably dented a little bit because he hasn’t been playing. He’s having a tough time being healthy.' Raonic further commented: 'I feel (my) body's allowing me to play and hopefully that continues for a very long time.

I did a lot of things well. I expected to be tight the first set. I needed a moment just to free up once I got that break. He got a little bit tight on that 5-All game or 5-6, and after that, I freed up and I thought I played really well.

People said he couldn't really play on clay, and all of a sudden he makes semis of Madrid. It can change very quickly. You know you sort of do a few things, confidence gets behind you, you start to play well. You figure what works for you and all of a sudden year after year you have just something to look back on, hey, these are the tools that were important for me. (Tennisworldusa)
