Young grassroots players get a treat from Isaac Success in Benin City

By Nelson Dafe, Benin City on May 24, 2018

The intensity of the training session told a story of its own. When players of Ojolojolo FC, a young grassroots Academy based in Benin City arrived at their School of Health Technology training pitch to find a huge personality kitting up to train with them, there was only one attitude to take into the pitch, which was to put in their best while enjoying the moment of sharing the field with the widely acclaimed Malaga of Spain player Isaac Success.

While the young upcoming players were playing with an extra zip under the watchful key of coach Pius Ehigiator, Success who had just returned home from a tough season in Europe showed serious commitment to the session as he looks to use the summer break to build up his fitness level after an injury blighted campaign last term.

Success played mostly from the middle in the two-sided training session, shuffling from defence to attack in the aging Benin city sun, supplying some jaw-dropping long range passes and motivating the players with a lot of well Donne’s and ‘come ons’.

After the about 1 hour session the players surrounded an obliging Success as they posed for selfish with the under 17 World Cup winner.

It was pleasing to see Success show his human side as he cracked jokes with the players while asking about the welfare of some players individually.

A little bit later, the full team were taken outside the school gates for a la carte breakfast.

Players and club staff were full of thanks to Isaac Success and went home well fed and happy.
