President Kagame calls for change at Arsenal

By Daily Sports on May 5, 2018

Fans of English football club Arsenal are still reeling from last night's defeat in the Europa Cup semi-final.

Supporters had hoped that the team would make it to the final and hopefully win the trophy as a perfect send-off to long-serving coach Arsene Wenger, who is leaving at the end of the season after two decades.

Rwanda's President Paul Kagame, who is an ardent Arsenal fan, tweets that the loss was an unfortunate end to Wenger's time at the club:

My take on my beloved Club Arsenal – a very good one at the game and a very good coach like a Wenger, this should not have been the kind of ending of an era. The coach is leaving and club trophy-less it was long coming! I am still a committed fan going forward :). Blame the owners

Mr Kagame was among supporters calling for Mr Wenger to be replaced at the club.

He added that he hopes that the club will soon return to its glory days:

As I had said way back and just as a good observer...something fundamental needed to change at/about the club. But if anything changed it was not the right one. All the best to all involved! We still need Arsenal to go back where it belongs- up there among the best in the game!
