Gary Neville would like to see Mauricio Pochettino take over from Jose Mourinho at Manchester United when the current boss leaves the club.
Pochettino has brought progress to Tottenham during his time in London and former United defender Neville has been impressed with the Argentinian.
Despite not bringing trophy success to Spurs, he has led them to a third successive season in the Champions League and Neville reckons Pochettino would “deserve” a crack at the United job.
“When Jose Mourinho’s time is finished at Manchester United, whether that’s one years, two years, I hope it’s three years and I hope he wins multiple Premier League titles because I think he’s a fantastic manager, but this is the guy I would want to manage the football club I support,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
“I think he’s the guy who deserves it.
“It’s probably the same for Paris Saint-Germain, it’s probably the same for Real Madrid.
“Daniel Levy knows that and I think that’s coming in the next 12 months for Tottenham.
“He is a big in a sense that if he leaves it will be an issue for Tottenham.
“He is extracting the maximum from very limited resources.” (Football365.com)
