The 2020 Delta State School Sports Festival zonal trials will hold today (18/02/2020) and Thursday (20/2/2020).

A statement released in Asaba yesterday by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the competition, indicated that athletics zonal trials for Zone A, made up of Aniocha North, Oshimili North and Oshimili South local government areas, will hold at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, while Zone B which comprises Aniocha South, Ika North East and Ika South will also have their turn at Agbor Township Stadium, Agbor.

Zone C (Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Isoko North and Isoko South) will participate in the zonal trials at the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, while Ethiope East, Ughelli North and Ukwuani local government areas that make up Zone D will take their turn at the Ughelli Township Stadium, Ughelli.

Ethiope West, Warri North, Sapele Local Government Areas (Zone E) will do battle at the Sapele Township Stadium, Sapele, just as Okpe, Uvwie, Warri South local government areas, (Zone F) will take their turn at Warri Township Stadium. Bomadi, Patani and Ughelli South local government areas (Zone G) are scheduled to hold theirs at Government College, Ughelli, while Warri Township Stadium will be venue for Burutu, Udu and Warri South West local government areas (Zone H).

All the athletics trials will hold simultaneously in all the venues today and a total of 2,970 male and female students will participate in the competition.

The trials for the ball, racket and board games for the Schools Sports Festival will hold in the three Senatorial Districts in the state on Thursday (20/02/2020) in all the venues.

The festival is scheduled to hold in Asaba from March 8, 2020 to March 12, 2020.
