The 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, has become the latest recipient of the award for the Charity Sponsor of The Year at prestigious Ahlan Cup preseason football tournament just concluded in Kano.
Now in its third year, the Ahlan Cup preseason tournament continues to recognise those charities that are innovative, exemplify best practices, and deliver sustainable benefits to communities and society in general and the Lagos state football association boss was the perfect choice for the 2019 award.
According to the organisers, “Akinwunmi’s life as a philanthropist is well documented and he should be in the school syllabus for Nigerian kids to learn for future leaders.
“Akinwunmi has contributed in no small measure to various charities aimed at developments and improvement of indigent and brilliant children.
“Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi is truly humanistic in giving, and still wants to give to football what it truly deserves.”
