The Nigeria America Football Association (NAFA) has disclosed that it would begin the second edition of its capacity development building for new coaches and referees, who will be certified to officiate in its programmes from August 1 to 31.

NAFA’s Secretary General, Lawrence Ojaideh, said the programme would attract over 700 participants from across the country, adding that it would be held virtually and physically.

Ojaideh said NAFA is working round the clock to create more awareness of American Football in the country, adding: “We are in the preparatory phase to start our second capacity development to recruit more coaches and referees from August 1 to 31.

“The programme will be 70 per cent virtual and 30 per cent physical… the physical will be held across the six educational districts by rotation and this applies to other states, including Lagos, FCT, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Oyo, Delta and Akwa Ibom.

“We are expecting 700 participants, both referees and coaches.

“NAFA is also accepting registration from new schools that want to put their teams on the league for season II, which holds from August 1 to 31.”

He revealed that NAFA is also preparing eight states for the season two of the secondary School league, which also holds from August 1 to October 31.

“NAFA will have the first national edition of NSSFFL from November 1, 2022 to January 20, 2023,” he added.
