Enyimba, Rivers United Know Continental Opponents As Draw Holds Today

Nigeria flagbearers in the CAF Confederation Cup, Enyimba of Aba and Rivers United of Port Harcourt, will know their opponents today when the draw for the 2021/22 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup last preliminary round holds in Cairo, Egypt.

The Confederation Cup’s last preliminary round will see 16 teams that qualified from last round playing against 16 teams that dropped from the CAF Champions League second preliminary round matches.

The draws will be live on CAF digital platform with the body’s head of competitions, Khaled Nassar, selected to conduct the show. He will be assisted by Egypt and Zamalek legend, Ismail Youssef.

The qualified teams in the pot are RS Berkane (Morocco), JS Kabylie (Algeria), Enyimba (Nigeria), CS Sfaxien (Tunisia), JS Saoura (Algeria), Pyramids (Egypt), Al Masry (Egypt), Gor Mahia (Kenya), Marumo Gallants (South Africa), Coton Sport (Cameroun), Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Red Arrows (Zambia), DC Motema Pembe (DR Congo), Binga FC (Mali), GD Interclube (Angola), Tusker (Kenya), Hearts of Oak (Ghana), Stade Malien (Mali), and LPRC Oilers (Liberia).

Others are US Gendarmerie Nationale (Niger), Al Ittihad (Libya), APR FC (Rwanda), AS Maniema Union (DR Congo), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), Simba SC (Tanzania), Rivers United (Nigeria), ASEC Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire), AS Otoho (Congo), FC Nouadhibou (Mauritania), Royal Leopards (Eswatini), Zanaco (Zambia). The last team will be decided by the match between Al Ahli Tripoli (Libya) and Biashara United (Tanzania).

According to CAF, the last qualifying round games first leg will hold on any of the three days from November 26 to 28, while the return legs will hold from any day in December between 3 to 5, 2021. (The Guardian)
