Mane: Liverpool Won’t Stop With Premier League Title

By Daily Sports on July 3, 2020

Senegal international Sadio Mane has vowed that Liverpool FC will not stop after clinching the 2019/20 English Premier League title.

The Reds’ 30-year wait to once again become domestic champions was ended as a Manchester City defeat at Chelsea on June 25 left them mathematically uncatchable at the top of the table.

Mane, who has also helped the Reds clinch the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup this season, reflected on the Reds’ league title triumph.

“It’s a special moment and a unique moment,” Mane told the club’s official website.

“It has been a long [time], waiting for the title and finally we got it and you can see how happy the players, the staff, the manager, [the people] around the club, all over the world the supporters are.

“It’s just an incredible moment and now we have to enjoy this moment and at the same time make sure we are ready for the next games.”

Liverpool players and technical team members watched the match between Chelsea and City together in a hotel.

“When we were watching the game it was a little bit nervous, especially myself because usually when I’m supporting a team I get nervous,” he added.

“I always struggle to watch football games… [but] when Chelsea scored everybody was celebrating. It was just a good night, an incredible night and to be honest it was a special day again.”

The 28-year-old winger, who also helped the Reds win the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League title, is hungry for more success.

“I think this is another step of all of us in our career for what we want to achieve, because as football players you have to be always professional and always hungry in a good way to win everything,” he continued.

“I think we have a great team, great staff and the club is amazing, so we have another step and big things to achieve so we won’t stop here.

“We just have to believe in ourselves still and keep working harder and be humble for sure – work hard and try to achieve bigger and bigger things with this club.” (African Football)
