Technical Adviser of Heartland Football Club of Owerri, Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, has declared war against his former club, MFM of Lagos, in today’s week one duel of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season 2019/2020

MFM will play away from home in their first game and have been struggling to find their rhythm through the pre-season and friendly matches.

Even so, Ilechukwu: “Nevertheless football is not mathematics; no small team in the league. More so, MFM is my former club. I’m familiar with the system and their style of play, though it will surely be a difficult match with lots of rivalry and hope.

“It’s my first ever assignment with Heartland Football Club of Owerri. It is a must for me and my boys to do all our possible best for the victory by God’s grace.

“I so much have confidence and assurance in my boys, they are tested and trusted, I see my team among the top leading teams at the end of the season with lots of hard work, dedication and concentration.

“I promise my fans, supporters club and Heartland lovers, that I will not disappoint their trust and dreams towards achieving our goals, I urge them to keep praying for the team, our doors are open at all times for brilliants suggestion, observations and advise at all times

“I’m so happy for the league resumption; it is long awaited. It is our own and nothing comparable with our own. I’m excited and happy seeing the action of the apex league back again. 

“Same time I commend the effort of football managers and league management for the good job, I advise them to do more and be more transparent in their decision making.”
