The General Manager of Heartland Football Club Owerri, Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi, says he is optimistic that the Naze Millionaires are 95% ready for the 2019/2020 NPFL hostilities, following the team’s outstanding performance in their Wednesday’s pre-season friendly game, against Oriental folks and Caf Confederation Cup contenders Rangers International of Enugu, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe  Stadium, Enugu.

Chief Ifeanyi stated this while fielding questions from news men after the match.

He said that the technical input of Coach Fidelis Illechukwu and his crew is gradually manifesting in the team’s technical abilities, showing that they are doing a great job in blending the new boys with the old ones.

The Heartland GM said the players fielded in the game showed sound technical abilities and commitment, which is a sign of being fully ready for the new league season.

He commended the players for such resilience and urged them to sustain it, while calling on the fans and supporters to always turn out in their numbers to rally support for the team, as they watch good football. Ifeanyi assured that the new management under his watch will return Heartland to its glory days.

On his part, Coach Illechukwu, a.k.a the Working One, said he is impressed with the performance of his boys in the game but added that they failed to take their chances.

Though the Naze Millionaires lost the match via a 92 minutes lone goal by Christian Madu, their performance was a delight to the fans who filled the stadium to watch the game.
