Aigbogun, Flying Eagles Set Sights on Nations Cup Trophy after Grabbing U-20 World Cup Ticket

Technical Adviser of Nigeria’s under-20 national football team, the Flying Eagles, Paul Aigbogun, is happy for the team’s record so far in the on-going Africa Nations Cup in Niger Republic.

The former Warri Wolves and Enyimba coach says he is happy to have secured one of the African tickets for the Poland 2019 U-20 World Cup later in the year.

According to him, his target and that of the team was to get one of the African slots to Poland “and we thank God that we now have it.”

“So our next target is to win the Nations Cup trophy here in Niger Republic,” the coach said Saturday in a telephone conversation with Daily Sports.

“As you are aware, before we left Nigeria I told you that my target and that of the team was to get one of the African World Cup tickets to Poland. I am so glad that it has been firmly grabbed after our game with the host country; we coasted home to victory in the game by a lone goal to top the group with seven points from three games.

“So the Nations Cup is the next target. With more prayers and injury-free squad we will get to the final and win the trophy by God’s grace,” Aigbogun further said.
