Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia left its base early morning of Thursday to Maiduguri to honour its week 8 match against Elkanemi Warriors on Sunday.

The East Warriors arrived Jos where en-route the Maiduguri and slept in the Tin City to proceed from there to Maiduguri today (Friday).

According to the team Technical Adviser of Abia Warriors Henry Makinwa the team is in high spirit and target at least a point in the match.

The Abia Warriors team will go into the encounter with the record of its back-to-back victories no doubt has increased their confidence and high hope and we will keep on fighting till the end of the season.

Makinwa told Daily Sports: “We left Umuahia on Thursday ahead of the Sunday match against fellow Maiduguri Warriors so we can have enough rest before the game on Sunday.

“We are leaving Jos o today (Friday) rest on Saturday and play on Sunday the management are doing their best so we the technical crew and the players must also do our best.

“We are to Maiduguri to continue to get on road point and I have the confident we will get good result in Maiduguri on Sunday.”
