WINNER: Pascal Durugbor scores hat trick for Vaxjo to lift Hyundai Cup in Sweden

By Daily Sports on October 18, 2018

Just days after hitting a brace for promotion chasing Swedish Division 3 Club Vaxjo United in the league play offs, Nigeria’s sensational striker Pascal Durugbor netted a hat trick (on Wednesday) to help his club lift the prestigious Hyundai Cup at the expense of Gnosjo IF in a match which ended 5-2 in favor of Vaxjo.

Durugbor has seen his stock rise since he moved to Sweden in January and his latest hat trick, which is his second this year for Vaxjo United, brings his goal tally to an amazing 35 in all competitions this year. He ended the season as the top scorer in the Swedish 3rd Division league.

Speaking with Daily Sports after Durugbor won the Hyundai Cup, his agent and ambitious players’ intermediary Ferdinand Oji (CEO of Chinice Sports Management Company) expressed delight with Durugbor’s performances this year and expressed confidence that more is to come from the player.

“I’m happy for Pascal. I know the stuff he’s made of and I’m not really surprised seeing him do so well for Vaxjo this year. The target is to continue to work and to be even better. Pascal has the humility and the talent to be great and I’m glad he’s shown it so far,” Oji said.

Durugbor is a physically strong attacker who is comfortable with both feet and has an ability to tale on defenders one-on-one.

He represented grassroots side Rock Stars FC of Benin City until his move to Vaxjo.
