Mick Schumacher set to compete in F1

By Daily Sports on October 14, 2018

With a race to spare Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael, has won the Formula 3 title.

The Prema driver will now compete in Formula 1 next season after a second place finish in Hockenheim gave him an unassailable lead at the top of the rankings.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” he said after the race.

“What this team has achieved over the last year is unbelievable.”

Schumacher, 19, has become the first German to win F3.

During the final lap Schumacher tried to attack in order to close the race and begin the celebrations in style with victory but Estonian Juri Vips held on to win.
