TYSON FURY is nowhere near ready for Deontay Wilder, according to Tony Bellew.

Fury extended his professional record to 27-0 last night, outpointing Francesco Pianeta at Windsor Park on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s win over Luke Jackson.

Wilder was in the ring after the fight to confirm that he would face Fury next with a November 17 showdown in Las Vegas understood to be the plan.

However, former cruiserweight champion Bellew reckons the “Gypsy King” is underestimating the challenge posed by WBC king Wilder.

“At the minute it’s a bit of a freak show with Tyson Fury,” Bellew told Sky Sports.

“He is definitely not ready for Deontay Wilder. I don’t think he’d ever beat Wilder.

“Tyson Fury is a vulnerable heavyweight, there’s no two ways about that .He is not a big man who can absorb everything.

“He is vulnerable and he can be hurt, and when you are coming across guys with the speed and explosive power, like Deontay Wilder it isn’t good.

“Fury against Wilder would be over in three rounds, at the most.”

Fury is aiming to win back “his” heavyweight title, having reached the pinnacle of boxing when he claimed the WBA, WBO and IBF straps by beating Wladimir Klitschko in Germany back in 2015.

However, he subsequently vacated the belts and spent more than two years out of the ring, ballooning up to 27 stone and battling depression and cocaine use.

But he will now get the chance to fight for the WBC belt which Wilder has successfully defended seven times, including his 40th and most recent professional win over Luis Ortiz.

“Styles make fights but when you’re talking about Wilder, no-one knows what he is going to do – because he doesn’t know either,” Bellew added.

“I always thought David Haye would beat Fury, because of the styles.

“Tyson Fury is a vulnerable heavyweight, there’s no two ways about that.”

Fury and Wilder are expected to make a more formal announcement on Monday at a press conference in the BT Tower in London.

And one man who will be conspicuous by his absence will be Anthony Joshua, whose own negotiations with Wilder broke down and forced the American to open talks with Fury.

Both fighters claim Joshua deliberately ducked the WBC champion.

"We have two men who will fight anyone," Fury said.

"This man has been trying to make a fight with another chump.

"They called, I answered. I said: 'Send me the contract.' They sent the contract. I said 'yes'.

“And now he gets his chance to fight the lineal heavyweight champion of the world.

“I got my rounds here tonight, my 10 rounds but one thing I promise when I go to Las Vegas is I’m knocking [Wilder] the f*** out.” (Daily Express)
