Arsenal fans call for Rafael Benitez to replace Arsene Wenger following defeat at Newcastle

By Daily Sports on April 16, 2018

Arsenal supporters were calling for Arsene Wenger’s head following the side’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United.

Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring at St James’ Park in the 14th minute before it all went horribly wrong for Arsenal who continue to struggle away from home.

Ayoze Perez equalised before the break and Rafa Benitez’s men completed an epic turnaround in the 68th minute as Matt Ritchie found the net to secure three huge points in their fight for survival.

The north London giants have now lost five consecutive away matches in the league for the first time since December 1984.

Benitez, who has managed the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid, has not been among the names strongly linked with the Arsenal job in recent times.

However, following the Gunners’ defeat in the North East, many Arsenal fans believe Benitez could be the man to take over from Wenger once he decides to leave.

Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to the defeat at St James’ Park…
