Even as Nigeria Home Eagles booked a berth in the final of the on-going African CHAN Nations Cup for the first time, Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, has tasked the highly determined Eagles to clinch the elusive trophy.
Ejidike in a press statement expressed happiness over the victory of the Eagles in the semi-final cracker against the hard fighting Sudan.
He, however, warned against any lackadaisical approach as they trade tackles in the final against the host country, Morocco.
Ejidike reminded the Coach Salisu Yusuf-led squad of the antics of the Magrebs who like intimidations and crafty nature of their styles.
“If the Nigerian Eagles would win the trophy, they must realise the sleekness and furtive nature of the north Africans particularly the Moroccans as obtainable in the history of our past encounters. “My words for the Eagles is that they must remain focused and be cautious knowing full well that any booking would weaken and deplete the team,” Ejidike said.
He called for prayers and support from all philanthropists even as he commended the Nigeria football ruling authority on their meaningful programme, which manifested in the outing.
“The NFF should mobilise mammoth support for the Eagles to neutralise intimidations of host country, Morocco as they file out on Sunday.”
Ejidike believes with adequate motivation and words of encouragement, Nigeria Eagles would clinch the diadem.
