Obuah hails Go-Round FC for winning NNL Super 4 Cup •Says ‘victory, new year gift for Rivers people’

By Daily Sports on January 11, 2018

As jubilations herald the victory of Go-Round FC of Omoku, Rivers State in the Nigeria National League (NNL) 2016/2017 Super 4 League on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, the President/Sole Sponsor of Go-Round FC of Omoku, Bro. Felix Obuah, has lauded the performance of his wards, describing them as worthy ambassadors of the state.

Bro. Obuah in a statement in Port Harcourt, shortly after Go-Round FC handed down a 2-1 victory to Heartland FC of Owerri, further described the NNL Super 4 Cup victory as a New Year gift to the government and people of the state.

He reiterated that the achievement was made possible following the overwhelming support from Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike who has placed sports development on the front burner of his administration.

Bro. Obuah said Governor Wike’s passion for the development of Sports in the State, provided the tonic that motivated the Go Round FC boys not only to move to the topflight of the nation’s soccer but to win the NNL Super 4 Cup.

“By this latest victory, Go-Round FC has proven to Heartland FC and the other teams which played in the NNL that their emergence as champions was not a fluke.  They have indeed demonstrated that gaining promotion to the elite football league was deserving”, said Bro. Obuah who is also the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

The Go Round FC President/Sole Sponsor charged the players, management and officials of the club to remain focused and not to see the Super 4 victory as the point of arrival, as they have to prove their mettle in the nation’s premier football league where they are making a debut.

The sports administrator, who is also Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), promised that the team would do its best to reciprocate all the numerous support by Governor Wike, adding that one good turn deserves another.
