Balogun says Gombe United can't afford to drop more points

Akeem Balogun says Gombe United cannot afford to drop more points if they are to have any hope of retaining their Nigeria Professional Football League status.

The Savannah Scorpions are in high spirits, following an impressive display in last week's match against Nasarawa United.

"We have to prepare for El Kanemi Warriors. We are expecting a tough encounter as will be playing in front of our fans," Balogun told Goal."

It's step by step as we continue to fight with our last blood. The management, coaches, players and fans are all working hard to keep this great club afloat.

"We are determined to fight all the way as we cannot afford to drop more points as we battle to survive relegation. All the remaining matches we have to play are very important. If we can get 19 more points we should be safe from the drop,” he said. (Goal.com)
