Nigeria’s Super Eagles beat Togo 3-0 last night in a friendly in Paris with all the goals coming in the first 30 minutes.
Both teams used this game to prepare for forthcoming AFCON 2019 qualifiers.
The Eagles were on top of the game in the first half partly because the Hawks of Togo were very poor, giving their opponents so much space to operate to punish them again and again.
However, in the second Togo stepped up their game and the numerous substitutions by Eagles coach Gernot Rohr meant Nigeria were not the cohesive force they were in the first period.
Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa has scored twice thus far to put behind a laboured performance against Corsica on Friday.
Shinning Ahmed Musa opened scoring after three minutes when he put away a rebound from an Iwobi cross.
It was almost a similar move for his second goal on 17 minutes.
Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi was Nigeria’s most outstanding player after he assisted in both Ahmed Musa goals.
Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho fired his third Eagles goal of this year in the 27th minute when he finished off after Oghenekaro Etebo intercepted a loose ball around the Togo goal area.
