Former Flying Eagles coach and the immediate past assistant coach to Dream Team VI to the 2016 Rio Olympics, Fatai Amoo, has commended the national team gaffer, Gernot Rohr for what he described as excellent results so far by the Super Eagles in the country’s World Cup Qualifying campaign.

The recently appointed 3SC coach said the Franco-German tactician and his able assistants have done well so far having ensured that Eagles secured the maximum points in the two games they have played in the qualifiers.

Amoo, a sound and experienced football tactician also commended the national team, the Super Eagles for their dedication, commitment and hard work which has ensured that Nigeria is on the driver’s seat of Group B of the African Zone of the World Cup Qualifiers.

Amoo extended his commendation to the Amaju Pinnick led board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for doing a good job in ensuring that Eagles’ games were hitch free, which has resulted in the excellent results the team have posted so far. Amoo made the commendations in an exclusive telephone interview with Daily Sports on Tuesday.

“I think so far so good for our World Cup Qualifiers. We have had excellent results in the two games we have played so far,” Amoo stated.

“I would like to commend the technical adviser of the team, Gernot Rohr and his able assistants for the good work they have done which has made it possible for us to have 100 per cent positive results.

“These results didn’t come easy. It came as a result of painstaking planning and dutiful implementation of the programmes of the technical crew led by Rohr.

“I also would like to use this opportunity to commend our players for their dedication, commitment, determination and hard work. The good results we have had so far are a combination of factors.

“It wouldn’t have been possible if there was no synergy among the stakeholders. So, kudos must also go to all the people who have been working very hard to ensure that we get good results from these games.

“Having said that I would like to also commend the board of the Nigeria Football Federation led by Amaju Pinnick for all that they have done so far in ensuring that we get these good results so far. They should not relent in making sure that we get the sole ticket of our group,” Amoo advised.

Speaking further, Coach Amoo expressed confidence in the ability of Rohr to deliver the sole ticket of Group B of the African Zone of the Russia 2018 World Cup. He explained that introduction of new players in the team in each games is to ensure that Nigeria use her best legs to prosecute the World Cup campaign with the sole purpose of delivering the only ticket of the group to Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup.

”As far as I am concerned, I don’t see any problem with the introduction of new players in the team because the coach knows the reasons why he has been introducing new players into the team in each game. I have confidence in the technical ability of Gernot Rohr and his able assistants because the results so far can speak for itself.

“I believe that whatever decision Rohr takes in the cause of his assignment is in the best interest of the team and country. He is the one who is wearing the shoe and he knows where it pinches him. So as far as I am concerned Gernot Rohr has done well and needs to be encouraged to enable him achieve the set objective of securing the sole ticket in our group. And for me, Rohr, Eagles and the NFF have done well,” Amoo declared.
