Omeruo Arrives Kasimpasa For Medicals

By Daily Sports Nigeria on July 26, 2023

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has arrived Tukey on Tuesday (today) after saying his goodbye to his teammates and staff of Spain’s Segunda division side, CD Leganés following his move to Turkish Super Liga club, Kasimpasa.

Kenneth Omeruo’s close associates said that the defender procured his entry visa for a return to Turkey today, with a view to agreeing personal terms and having medicals with the side he once had a stint with, as a loanee.

The defender who played in the Nigeria U17 team and Under-20 setups, before going on trial with Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht and was snapped up by another Belgian top division side, Standard de Liège, is on the verge of sealing a second stint with Kasimpasa, after a loan spell there in 2015.

Omeruo’s quest for the proverbial golden fleece saw him return to England to rejoin star studded Chelsea, with the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Mikel Obi, Didier Drogba and Michael Essien among the notable names that made youngsters breaking into the first team so difficult, and had to be sent out on loan, a few other times.

Prior to leaving the pre-season camp of Leganés, the close associate of the 2013 Afcon winner with the Super Eagles said despite Omeruo being their captain, he didn’t feature in the last two games CD Leganés played, and the set-up there has been very helpful in ensuring that the move is a reality.
