By Exclusive Victor Enyinnaya on April 12, 2022

Again, the season is here, that is period where names of foreign coach or those assumed the cap would fit to handle the Super Eagles as names of more coaches of all shades and shapes are being dropped as possible one (s) that would head the technical crew of  Super Eagles.

Already, the media space is agog with such names i.e. offline and online media. The names of foreign technical hands have been flying around and so such practice has been the tradition when this kind of season for the search for who will fit into the big shoe, space or who the cap would fit to fill the vacant position of head coach of the nation’s flagship team.

The speculations are intensive and all sorts of names have floored the media arena. However, to fuel the tensed situation, a member of the NFF technical committee and ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju confirmed the recommendation of five foreign coaches to the executive committee and indigenous ones that would be on the team also.

He totally declined mentioning of names but pleaded that we should all wait for the announcement to come from NFF executive committee after their meeting soon that deliberate on the technical committee’s recommendations.

“I believe that there is no need to hurry. We have submitted our recommendations to the body that mandated us (technical committee) to bring on experienced and productive technically sound men that would come and bring quality, value to the table that would turn around the fast declining fortunes of the Super Eagles. We have graciously done our assignment on record time and so the ball is their (NFF) court,” he narrated.

The names of foreign handlers that have made the list in the first instance are former Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valoerdo, former PSG and France national team handler, Laurent Blanc, former PVS Eindhoven manager, Philip Cocu more names would definitely surface like other seasons of this nature has witnessed in the past.

The Portugese Vitor Don Santos Prissier who was touted before the last AFCON is also strongly featuring/ competing amongst possible Eagles new technical hand being awaited.

It would be recalled that the list would continue to grow by the day until those short listed for the interview by the technical committee face the panel that is if the executive committee would this time allow the technical committee do their job i.e. given free hand this time from always and usual interference  by the leadership of the NFF as interest groups have started bombarding the secretariat of the body (NFF) with bags of Dollars, Euros and Pounds Sterling to lobby and bribe their way for their candidate to be appointed for the plumb job of the Super Eagles.

It happened during the immediate past Gernot Rohr and it is already thick now as foreign coaches agents have floored Abuja, Daily Sports was authoritatively confided in by those on the know.
