Nwosu, Okumagba Hailed NFF Decision On Eguaveon, Amuneke For Eagles Handlers

By Prosper E. on February 4, 2022

Former Super Eagles midfielder and member of the 1980 victorious team, Henry Nwosu (MON) in telephone conversation from Naze, Owerri, has hailed the decision by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appoint Austin Eguaveon chief coach of the team with his 1994 teammate, Emmanuel Amuneke as his assistant.
Nwosu added that if this report is anything to rely upon, then the Super Eagles team is on course.
According to him, these two men would form a technical and tactical suicide partner if things go on as it is on paper.
“Truth is that both Eguaveon and Amuneke played this game enduringly and would formulate deadly strategy now that NFF has given them the green light to handle that national team at last. Now that it is settled eye must be on the ball so as to make great result from Nigeria/Ghana Qatar 2022 World Cup pay-off coming up next Month,” Nwosu restated.
He appealed to both Eguaveon and Amuneke to ensure they close ranks and turn up sterling result and make the Super Eagles work again as stronger team in the continent. He stressed that before this kind of lame duck performances by the Super Eagles the Nigerian team had strong pedigree that teams think twice before facing it. But all these are history now, Nwosu regrets.
Former defunct New Nigerian FC play maker also called on the handlers to start preparations against Ghana now by strategizing on way forward how to talk to the players to come off AFCON 2021 shocked exit and face this new national assignment with great zeal steadfastness. The players must be told in clear language that this play-off is enroute to the World Cup a different character, approach, way of thinking and execution. In short, a brand new beginning altogether, Nwosu appealed.
In another development, President of Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC), Prince Vincent Okumagba thanked NFF leadership for coming to this patriotic decision with the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare all making Nigeria to be the winner at the end of the day.
Okumagba stated that this landmark decision is not only epic but also significant as it has cleared off whatever cloud that was hanging over who leads the Super Eagles team to the crucial Qatar 2022 World Cup play-off next Month.
He thumbed up the principal actors in this landmark decision, Sports Minister, Sunday Dare and NFF President, Amaju Pinnick. He praised their steadfastness on this issue of national importance. He further said that the pair of Austin Eguaveon and Emmanuel Amuneke for the Eagles technical crew will enhance the technical and tactical abilities of the team.
He then called on the technical crew to brace up decisively to reach out to the players and bring their spirits focused on the assignment ahead. All hands must be on deck for this task ahead and so no stone should be left unturned to accomplish this Nigeria/Ghana epic Qatar 2022 World Cup play-off, Okumagba appeals.
