Lukaku Earns Belgium Point In Prague

By Daily sports on March 28, 2021

Romelu Lukaku rescued a point for Belgium in their World Cup qualifier with the Czech Republic in Prague.

Lukas Provod put the hosts ahead with a finish from outside the box that flew into the bottom corner.

Lukaku sent defender Ondrej Celustka one way and then the other before firing under keeper Tomas Vaclik.

The Inter Milan striker has scored 36 goals in his past 31 international appearances - and is up to 59 goals in 91 caps.

Both sides hit the woodwork, with Michael Krmencik striking the post and Jan Boril hitting the crossbar for the hosts – and Kevin de Bruyne shooting against the post for Belgium.

Tomas Soucek had a header cleared off the line by Belgium defender Toby Alderweireld late on.

The Czechs are above Belgium, who are ranked number one in the world, on goal difference after two games – with both sides winning their opening qualifiers.

Belgium beat Wales 3-1 on Wednesday, with the Czech Republic seeing off Estonia 6-2. (BBC)
