Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno has approved the reconstitution of the management board of El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri, with Sherif Bukar as Chairman.

Mallam Fannami, the Permanent Secretary, Borno’s Ministry of Youth, Sports and Empowerment, said in a statement on Tuesday in Maiduguri that the board members’ appointment was with immediate effect.

Fannami, in the statement, listed Bura Mustafa as Secretary, while Waziri Isa is the Vice-Chairman, Kashim Zanna the Team Manager, Usman Mohammed the Welfare Officer, and Tahir Bala as Media Officer.

“Maliki Mohammed is to serve as Community Representative, while the Commissioner of Police in Borno is to nominate one member for the purpose of taking care of security needs,’’ he said.

The permanent secretary said the state governor, as well as the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Empowerment, both see their appointment as well-deserved.

“They both urged the members to justify the confidence reposed in them through commitment and dedication in the discharge of their duties,” he said. (NAN)
