Amoo hails players as Brazilian kids celebrate Dream Team

By Daily Sports on March 24, 2016

Coach Fatai Amoo has praised the new players invited to the Nigeria U-23 camp for their sense of professionalism and dedication as the Dream Team go up against their Brazilian counterparts in a much –awaited international friendly in Vitoria on Thursday.

Amoo has taken charge of this trip to Brazil as Head Coach Samson Siasia is working with the Super Eagles for two 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Egypt in a few days.

“I’m really and truly impressed by the attitude of the new players especially, who have blended easily and shown no sign that they are new in the camp.

“I must also commend the high level of discipline and dedication among both the old and the new players. On the evidence of these, I have confidence that those players that will feature against Brazil will do Nigeria proud,” Amoo said on Tuesday, after the team’s second training session at the Clube Aert & Clube Aest football pitch in Vitoria.

The former international midfielder also commended the facilities provided by the NFF and the organisers for the team in Brazil.

“We are very comfortable, and the training facility s world –class. The team has no excuse not to go all out against the Brazilians.”

The Nigeria U-23 squad will have a feel of the match venue – Kleber Andrade Stadium - on Wednesday evening. The match will take place on Thursday, starting from 7pm Brazil time (11pm Nigeria).

Meanwhile, Brazilian kids stormed the Dream Team’s training session on Tuesday in large numbers, and demanded for autographs from the players.

Nigeria and Brazil played out a memorable Olympics semi final clash in Atlanta 20 years ago, which Nigeria edged on ‘golden goal’ in extra time after being 1-3 down at a point in the game. (thenff.com)
