Neymar Suffering From ‘Anxiety’ Due To Virus

By Daily Sports on April 24, 2020

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has said not knowing when football will resume is causing him “anxiety.”

Neymar returned to his native Brazil with his club's permission before France went into a mandatory lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 17.

“Not knowing when I can return [to play] gives me anxiety,” Neymar published on his official website. “I really miss playing, competing, to be in the club environment with my PSG teammates.

“I really miss football. I'm sure the fans also wants to see everyone back on the pitch as soon as possible. I hope the decision comes out as soon as possible.”

Neymar’s last game was the 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League round-of-16 clash on March 11.

Two days later, French football’s top two leagues were suspended indefinitely due to the global outbreak.

France’s Professional Football League [LFP] has outlined plans for Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 to resume on June 17 with the aim of completing the 2019-20 campaign by July 25.

France has among the highest number of coronavirus infections in the world with 159,877 confirmed cases reported and 21,340 deaths as of April 23, 2020.
