By Daily Sports on February 14, 2016

Akwa United yesterday evening began their campaign in CAF Confederation Cup on a bright note when they won 1-0 at Vita Club Mokanda on Saturday in a preliminary round first leg game.

This is Akwa United’s maiden appearance on the continent and they have started well on away soil.

Returnee striker Ubong Ekpai scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute.

The Nigeria Federation Cup holders will host the Congolese club in Uyo in a fortnight for the second leg.
