Players of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Go Round FC of Omoku are appealing to the sports-loving Governor of Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wile, to redeem the promise he made to them and team officials when they won the Super 4 and gained promotion to the NPFL two seasons ago.
The Governor had promised the team N50 million and a 30-seater Coaster bus, as well as N10 million for the supporters.
“We are appealing to the Governor to please redeem his promise,” one of the players told Daily Sports.
“We were honoured by the Governor at the Government House, where he promised us all the above but yet after two seasons the promise has yet to be fulfilled,” the player lamented.
